 AD France June 2012
Isola Galli

In 1917, Leonid Massine, Stravinsky and Picasso came to Positano
to visit their eccentric friend Misha Semenov who lived naked in a old mill.
Seven years later, Massine bought the archipelago facing his friend's house,
built a house and a chapel, restored the old tower and carried on with Le corbusier's design
of a magnificent pool dug in the rock and facing Capri.
Rudolph Nureev already sick, bought the property in 1989,
turned the tower into a dancing studio,
dying shortly after in 1993.
It is today the property of Giovanni Russo.

It's poppy craze in the garden today.
Poppies and busy buzzing bees.

Papaveri e papere

"Lo sai che i papaveri son alti, alti, alti,
e tu sei piccolina, e tu sei piccolina,
lo sai che i papaveri son alti, alti, alti,
sei nata paperina, che cosa ci vuoi far...

 The garden today.

Something I've learned from the great
gardeners Alain Richert and Catherine Willis
is to plant amidst what already grows naturally.

 Before we light the fire,
let's make a piece of Art
and burn it.

Everything must go.
What we are, what we do.

Let's not be too serious
about it.

 Cette lumineuse rupture...
The reflection of a plaster bust in a mirror in my study. It can only be seen if one sits low and close to the fire place. Through the mirrors, things are looking at us without us noticing it. They seem to watch us live and sometimes, not often, we catch them doing it. Or is it the contrary ? This bust is obviously squatting a strategic place. Something to think about.

 After weeks of rain,

at last,

a ray of
sun.
