In the news stand in December 2009.
The World of Interiors. Chateau Gabriel. Yves Saint Laurent's estate in Deauville.
Yves Saint Laurent's bedroom, rue de Babylone. Most intimate, revealing and touching is the bedside table with photographs of his mother and himself with Betty Catroux and of course of his dog Moujik. The close-up shows his favorite objects, all exquisite amongst which is a remarkable lamp in crystal and silver designed by the argentine jewelry designer Marcial Berro. Saint Laurent purchased it in the late 80's from Pierre Passebon where Mr Berro was having a show. Click on the photos for a larger view.

Reviews:
"Still, the sum of the work offered here is stunning in revealing the care and resources that Saint Laurent and Berge devoted to collecting, decorating, and simply creating extraordinary backdrops for their lives and dreams, and the book is overall an ode to the wondrous extremes to which a cultivated French taste for antiquities, modern art, and even adapted stage settings can go."

"If you couldn't afford anything at the Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge sale earlier this year or don't have enough credit to buy their old Tangier estate in Morocco currently on the market, then you might like this new book. The Private World of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge let's you enjoy their splendor without breaking the bank. Photographer Ivan Terestchenko photographed their beautiful Paris apartment and home in Marrakesh after Yves death for this beautiful glimpse into their private world. It releases September 1, 2009. I told you it was going to be a very fashionable fall!"
